Dear Weber County residents,

As you prepare to cast your vote, I understand how overwhelming the noise around elections can be. It’s easy to miss essential information in the midst of it all. That’s why I want to take a moment to answer some of the key questions I’ve been receiving during my campaign to serve as your next Weber County Commissioner. If you ever have more questions, please know that I’m always available—whether I’m a candidate or your commissioner. Feel free to reach out to me directly at (801) 414-5773.

A Little About Steve

I was born and raised as a farm boy right here in Utah, where I learned the value of hard work, community, and service. I later served in the United States Marine Corps, which further strengthened my commitment to serve others. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats—small business owner, community member, coach, and advocate for local youth. These roles have all shaped my deep dedication to leadership and public service.

More about Steve

Why Am I Running?

I’m running to roll up my sleeves and stand alongside the hardworking families of Weber County. From my upbringing on a farm, to serving in the Marines, and now as a business owner and community advocate, I’ve always believed in getting things done. I want to make a real difference in the lives of Weber County residents by focusing on solutions, not talk. Together, we can create better opportunities for our community today and for the future.

Steve’s Values

My Priorities

  • Property Tax Relief: I’m focused on addressing the burden of rising property taxes, especially for retirees and working families.

  • Public Safety: I fully support our first responders and am committed to keeping our communities safe.

  • Responsible Development: I believe in protecting our natural resources and ensuring that growth benefits all residents.

  • Community Engagement: I will be an accessible, transparent leader who listens to the people and acts in their best interest.

  • Collaboration: I am committed to working closely with our mayors, city officials, and community councils to bring about effective change in Weber County.

Weber County Affordable Housing

Our state has invested more than $150 million into programs designed to support first-time homebuyers, yet we’re still seeing far too many families who are struggling to find homes that meet their needs or fit within their budgets. As a county commissioner, I believe we need to take a more holistic approach to solving this issue.

First, we need to have a vision of a real local economy. This means fostering an environment where businesses want to operate in Weber County, providing more stable, good-paying wages for residents. When people are earning livable wages, they can better afford the homes they want. It’s not just about building houses; it’s about building an economy that supports homeowners.

I’m committed to ensuring that everyone—no matter their income level—has the opportunity to find a place they can call home in our county. With a combined effort of economic growth and affordable housing initiatives, we can make Weber County a place where families can thrive, not just get by.

Ogden Valley Incorporation

The issue of Ogden Valley incorporation is deeply concerning for many residents, and I understand why. A lack of transparency and representation has left many feeling frustrated. I’ve been endorsed by both those who support and oppose the incorporation because they know I’m someone who listens, shows up, and will represent all sides fairly. After the vote, I’ll work to bring the community together and represent everyone as your commissioner.

Campaign Contributions

My opponent has received over $25,000 from just four donors, including developers and real estate groups from Ogden Valley. I believe a county commissioner should prioritize public trust and avoid any conflicts of interest. That’s why I’ve chosen a different path—one that’s supported by over 250 individual donors, some contributing as little as $1.00. I’ve also turned down a $3,500 donation from a developer to remain true to the values of public service. I take conflicts of interest seriously, and I will always work for you, not special interests.

Term Limits

Many voters have expressed concerns about term limits for County Commissioners. My opponent has already served two full terms (8 years) and is asking for another 4 years, which would bring the total to 12 years. I support the idea of implementing a formal two-term limit for commissioners, in line with Weber County’s historical practice.
